Legal & General // Rebuilding Britain Index (RBI)
To support the important work being carried out by Legal & General around its Rebuilding Britain Index (RBI), I was responsible for transforming complex, data-driven insights into accessible, engaging reports accessible to a wide audience— including policymakers, business leaders, and members of the public. The RBI is a comprehensive, long-term research programme designed to measure the UK’s progress in "levelling up" across key social and economic foundations in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. These measures include health, housing, jobs, education, transport, the environment, energy, and digital infrastructure—eight pillars critical to improving people’s lives and driving inclusive, sustainable growth.
Each quarter, the RBI gathers and analyses a large volume of data from across the UK— both statistical indicators and public sentiment—capturing how different regions and communities are faring over time. I worked closely with the research and policy teams to ensure that the findings, while grounded in complex metrics, were communicated clearly and effectively. My focus was on making the data meaningful: crafting concise summaries, developing clear visual narratives, and ensuring the human stories behind the numbers came through.
This work is a great example of how editorial storytelling can bridge the gap between robust data and real-world impact— empowering stakeholders to better understand where investment and attention are most urgently needed to rebuild Britain, fairly and equitably.
